Clear background: works best on light colored base. The base color of your nail will be the background color & will affect the color vibrancy of the design as it's translucent. Clear edges disappear seamlessly when top coat or is applied.

Solid background: keeps designs vivid on a dark or colorful base as it's opaque & non-transparent. The base color of your nail will not pass through the decal.
